About Us
Wind Rose North, ltd. Outfitters is located in Menominee's Historic Waterfront Downtown. The business is housed in a renovated two story building that captures the atmosphere of its origin, the late 1800's. Merchandise is tastefully displayed among a collection of period pieces. Many of the period pieces are a part of Menominee's history. Beyond the ordinary shopping experience....Wind Rose North.

Visit the "Due South" kayak room located within Wind Rose North. Here lies a wide selection of kayaks, paddles, life jackets, related apparel and footwear.

"Wind Whimies" are a collection of colorful flags to be used to locate your boat in a marina, mark your pier's location, decorate a porch, identify your residence and let those passer-byers know you have a fun spirit. These eye-catching flags are weather resistant and come in a variety of designs and color choices. Choose yours from the WRN collection.

Don't miss the opportunity to see local history preserved in the "Dormer Angwall Fish" room. The original siding from this building is a part of WRN's current shoe room. The building is captured in a black and white photo, found in this room, from the 1970's by the late Greg Isle.

Curious Fact: The "wind rose" is a tool the sailors used to chart their courses on the seas according to the winds. It dates back to the 1300's. From the "wind rose" evolved the familiar "compass rose", the floral directional used on many maps.
