The Originator and leader of Spinner-Fly Combinations since 1961, Joe's Flies exclusive Short-Striker "Classics" Size #8 ( 1/24oz) is our most popular and most productive lure in the "ultra-light" class.
Originally developed to catch the "short striking" native trout in West Virginia streams, however, Short-Striker Classics are equally at home hooking Smallmouth, Crappie and Breim.
The secret of the Short Striker is 3 Fold. First off, the enticing, mirror polished spinnerblade creates a flash which grabs the trouts attention. The hand tied fly, carefully chosen to "match the hatch" represents a favorite food source and causes an instinctive strike. Finally, the "trailing-treble" works in tandem with the main hook to yeilds a firmly hooked fish.
Last but not least the ez-exchange clip allows the angler to "tie on once" and quickly change patterns in seconds. Always remember you can't fish when the lure is out of the water!

Since 1961, Joe's Flies Short-Striker "Classic" in size #10 have been the apex in Spinner/Fly combinations. Our exclusively hand tied premium patterns are uniquely designed to attract and "Hook & Hold" the wary native trout. Approximately 30% smaller in size than the size #8. The #10 is well suited for ultra-light fishing in clear delicate streams, where less intrusive presentation is desired.
Wild trout feed exclusively on regional insects and minnows. The Short Striker size #10 has been designed to imitate natural food selection.
